Application

Milliflex^® Cassette prefilled with Heterotrophic Plate Count Agar is used in Bioburden testing and general microbiological analysis of water especially high purity water (electronics, RO, distilled or purified). It is widely used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and brewing industry.

General description

Milliflex^® Cassette are ready to use agar-based media to be used with Milliflex^® or Milliflex Oasis^® system for convenient, rapid and reliable bioburden testing. The prefilled agar cassette helps to streamline the microbial contamination testing workflow with quality assurance and avoiding risks of exogenous contamination. Each plate is a 3-piece assembly containing approximately 10ml of the media. Heterotrophic Plate Count, formerly known as the standard plate, is a procedure for estimating the number of live heterotrophic bacteria in potable water. Peptic digest of animal tissue is the source of nutrients for organisms, which are not highly fastidious. Gelatin is utilized by microorganisms through a proteolytic mechanism and the addition of glycerol to the basal medium provides a source of carbon and energy.
