Biochem/physiol Actions

Dexamethasone 21-phosphate (Dex 21-P) is a pro-drug that can undergo dephosphorylation to form dexamethasone with the help of intra-erythrocyte enzymes. It exhibits therapeutic effects against cystic fibrosis and postoperative cataract. Dex 21-P disodium salt is a synthetic adrenalcorticosteroid and possesses anti-inflammatory activity.
